Maracom Corporation, originally named Color Press Advertisers, opened for business in 1951 as a local print shop. In 1954, Evert Peterson bought into the business.

  In 1961, Evert and Lorraine Peterson purchased the stock from the partnership and became the sole owners. The family-owned company was incorporated in 1964.
 

The local printing company expanded to include marketing and advertising services. To reflect the broadened scope of services, the name was changed to MARACOM: MARketing,
Advertising, and COMmercial printing.

 

Maracom Corporation continued to expand not only in products and services but also geographically to include the entire Midwest with primary emphasis in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

The national market opened up for Maracom in 1986 with the Local View distributor program. To designate this unique niche, the division was named MARACOM POSTCARD U.S.A. The Local View division has grown considerably since 1986 and today Maracom ranks as one of the top domestic post card manufacturers.

 

In the 90’s, Maracom began a concerted effort to transform the company from a sales-driven corporation to a market-oriented business. In December 1994, Gary Peterson, son of Evert and Lorraine, was appointed president of Maracom Corporation. Under Gary’s leadership, management and staff continue to work in teams to improve total quality. Increased productivity and overall business efficiency are the teams’ objectives.

Maracom has been awarded “postcard printer of the year,” and other honors, each year since 1995. The recognition has come from the Post Card and Souvenir Distributors Association (PCSDA) and the International Post Card Distributors Association (IPCDA).

 

Maracom’s growth will continue in all areas as commitment and efforts are geared to developing and offering innovative products and services. Our goal is to lead the market in quality, on-time delivery, full-service, creativity and competitive pricing.

Some things never change. Maracom today is based on the same values that formed the company in 1951 — values that make our customers part of Maracom’s growing family.
